Ukrainian Artist, Easel Painter, Portraitist
Born on October 8, 1980, in the city of Novovolynsk, Volyn region.
Studied at the metalworking department of the Lviv State College of Decorative and Applied Arts. Even during his studies, he began to establish himself in easel painting and reproducing the works of world-class classic artists.
Over 23 years, he has created more than 1300 paintings. Among them are both miniatures and panels up to 3.5 meters high. My canvases are now in many galleries in Ukraine and around the world (in European countries and Australia), as well as in private collections.
One of the directions of my creativity is portrait creation. He became famous in Europe thanks to his private portraits, in particular, portraits of prominent contemporary dynasties. In addition, he reproduced the works of many famous masters, such as C. Monet, Hofmann, G. Klimt, E. Munier, Rembrandt, P. Rubens, G. Semiradsky, L. da Vinci, P. Cotta, D. Canaletto, K. Herpfer, S. Dali. He works in various painting styles: Impressionism, Expressionism, Neoclassicism, Romanticism, Realism.
In 2022, with the start of the war, he reproduced Gustave Doré's work "Valley of Tears" about faith that triumphs over pain and death. Humanity suffering turns to the figure of Christ the Savior, who carries his cross. The light emanating from his fragile silhouette illuminates the arid mountain landscape. Crowds descend from steep slopes into the valley: rulers and beggars, children and old people, men and women. Their clothing is characteristic of the inhabitants of the ancient cities of the Middle East, the cradle of Christianity.
In this work, I embedded two ideas at once. The first is the actualization of the meaning embedded in the painting by Doré himself on the eve of his death. Namely, the idea of hope and faith in the Gospel of Matthew, which reminds us of Christ's words: "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." For Ukraine, suffering from war, this is especially relevant.
The second idea is a reference to the eponymous battle in the Valley of Tears in 1973, as a result of which Israel managed to heroically defend its territory against the superior forces of Syria. I created this canvas as a hymn of faith in Ukraine's victory in the war with Russia. In 2023, he reproduced the painting "Madonna" by the Italian artist Carlo Dolci, a master of the Baroque era, in which he appeals to the viewer's emotions. The original was created by the artist in 1655.
Working on this painting, I again tried to embed a play of meanings. I painted the Madonna for Kyiv because the city has its own Madonna - this is the Holy Mother of God Oranta in St. Sophia's Cathedral, which is the guardian of the capital of Ukraine. And Kyiv, in turn, is a symbol of centuries-old Ukrainian history and modern Ukraine. That is, once again, I embedded in the painting the idea of the victory and resilience of our state.
Philosophy of Art
Painting is the work of my entire life, a healing force through which I can bring love and charity to this world. My works are the embodiment of the ideas of personal worldview and the heritage of the outlook of prominent artists of different times and generations. In my works, I try to encourage the viewer to pay attention to the details, sometimes deliberately added, and sometimes deliberately omitted. And to find such a coded essence of perception, which can expand the horizons of knowledge for everyone who touches painting.
